New Orleans makes some space to make moves.
The New Orleans Saints‘ free agency has been filled with contract restructures, pay cuts, signings, bringing back players, and trades. Many expected a more active year than last offseason, but what the Saints did so far has exceeded expectations. As New Orleans always does, each contract they gave out had first years with low base salaries and void years attached. Currently, before the Dillon Radunz contract details come out, the Saints’ cap space is approximate $31 million, per Kat Terrell.

Justin Reid: $3.8 million
Brandin Cooks: $3.2 million
Isaac Yiadom: $2 million
Landon Young: $1.3 million

The Saints have filled many of their pressing needs since the beginning of free agency, and going into the draft, it is doubtful the team will make any significant additions to the team. With compensatory picks in mind, signing a player to a larger contract would wipe out the projected 4th round selection the Saints would get from Paulson Adebo leaving in free agency. Having around $30 million in cap space may hint at more moves being made, but the team can easily roll over the money into next years’ cap space. Still, more work needs to be done, and if all their needs cannot be fixed through the NFL Draft, New Orleans could make more additions.
