The inaugural event will take place at the French Market on Friday and Saturday.
The French Market, in partnership with the Super Bowl Host Committee, Lieutenant Governor Nungesser, Louisiana Office of Tourism, and the National Park Service, will host the 1st annual Louisiana Culture Festival on Friday, February 7th, and Saturday, February 8th, at the French Market in New Orleans. The 2-day free festival will feature live music, cultural demonstrations, live dance, regional cuisine, Louisiana crafts, and free kids’ activities.
There will be live music from local Jazz and Zydeco bands as well as cooking and dance demonstrations on 3 different stages starting at 11 a.m. on both days. For children, there will be face painting, cookie decorating, umbrella and Mardi Gras mask decorating.
- The Mardi Gras Music Stage will feature musical performances highlighting Hip-Hop, Country-Western, Rockabilly, Jazz, Soul, and New Orleans Mardi Gras favorites.
- The Culture Corner Stage will feature vibrant dance performances by the Coushatta Tribe, Folk dances, Tamale Making, Louisiana’s Haunted History, and Cooking Demos of regional dishes.
- The Dutch Alley Performance Pavilion Stage will feature musical performance celebrating the states rich cultural diversity.
The festival will also offer several delicious dishes from local area restaurants like Cafe’ Dauphine, Couchon King, Lillie’s Cajun Kitchen and more.
