Stay frosty: New Orleans Saints offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak is flying out to meet in person with Seattle Seahawks brass on Friday, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. This will be Kubiak’s second interview with Seattle after he previously met with them virtually.
He’s also spoken with the Cleveland Browns, who opted to promote from within, so Kubiak’s services are clearly in demand. Because this would be a lateral move the Saints could have chosen to block an interview with the Seahawks and any other team interested in having Kubiak calling plays in 2025. But they’ve given him the green light to pursue other opportunities and likely won’t stand in his way.
That suggests other offensive play callers like Joe Brady and Kliff Kingsbury could be real candidates for the Saints’ head coaching job. We’ll see how things develop on both fronts in New Orleans and Seattle, but it’s looking more and more likely that Kubiak won’t be returning to the Saints next season. The Saints are scheduled to play an away game with the Seahawks at Lumen Field in 2025.
