Rough point gains due to Injuries.
As the New Orleans Saints try to salvage the season, the barriers just keep coming. Olave possibly being placed on IR along with Shaheed, the WR line-up has taken a hit. With Carr’s return being a solid one, fantasy points from the Saints line-up has not been the best. So, with that in mind, I’m going to take a different approach. Let’s look ahead in a positive light.
Derek Carr- Start
In his return from injury, Derek Carr displayed resilience and efficiency, completing 18 of 31 passes for 236 yards and a touchdown. The veteran quarterback adjusted well to the loss of Chris Olave, relying on Alvin Kamara and Taysom Hill to contribute significantly to the passing game. Carr’s highlight play was a beautiful 17-yard touchdown pass to Foster Moreau. Although the Saints ultimately lost, Carr’s performance could be a promising outlook for the upcoming matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. And WE NEED a solid performance against Atlanta.
Alvin Kamara-Start
Deprived of his usual backfield support, Kamara carried the Saints’ offense against the Panthers, rushing for a season-high 155 yards on 29 carries. He also contributed significantly in the passing game, catching 6 of 9 targets for 60 yards. This performance highlighted Kamara’s versatility and his ability to impact the game in multiple ways.
Taysom Hill-Start
Hill showcased his multifaceted abilities in the Saints’ loss to the Panthers. He caught four passes for 41 yards, rushed for 19 yards and a touchdown, and attempted one pass. With Chris Olave out due to a concussion, Hill’s role expanded, and he capitalized on the opportunity, setting new season highs in receptions and receiving yards. His seven-yard rushing touchdown in the second quarter highlighted his ability to make plays on the ground. As the Saints prepare to face the Falcons in Week 10, Hill’s increased involvement as a receiver could continue if Olave is unable to return.
Foster Moreau-Start
Moreau flashed his potential on Sunday, scoring a crucial touchdown. Despite limited targets, he made the most of his opportunities. With his ability to make big plays, he could be a key factor in future games.
Juwan Johnson-Start
Juwan Johnson made the most of his limited opportunities in Sunday’s heart-wrenching 23-22 loss to the Panthers. He hauled in both targets for 41 yards, tying Taysom Hill for the team lead. While his streak of three-reception games came to an end, Johnson’s recent form, with three 40-yard performances in the last four games, is encouraging. As he enters Week 10 against the Falcons, he’ll be eager to find the end zone for the first time since Week 1 and help the Saints secure a much-needed victory,
