Cooks’ deal with the Saints will be worth $13 million, a relative steal for a position the Saints need improved depth at.
Cooks had much success in his previous tenure with the Saints, as many likely haven’t forgotten. He last suited up in the Black and Gold in 2016. Well-known as one of the speediest players in the room, Cooks could frequently be seen speeding up the sideline catching long bombs from Saints legend Drew Brees. Cooks has aged over the years, but has not lost that speed.
This is the first major move the Saints have made since clearing up over $30 million in cap space through re-structures. It surely won’t be the last.
Cooks’ return to the Saints is a welcome homecoming for fans and the team alike and he’s sure to be a potent weapon in Kellen Moore’s new offense.
