The former Birmingham Stallion provides depth at the position before training camp.
Days before training camp, the New Orleans Saints announced the signing of former Birmingham Stallions receiver Kevin Austin Jr. to a one-year deal.

With WR Chris Olave set to start training camp on the non-football injury list while dealing with minor back tightness, it doesn’t hurt to add an extra body to the receiver room in the meantime.
At the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine, Austin Jr. ran a 4.43-second 40-yard dash, while measuring in at 6′2″, 200 lbs. After signing with the Jacksonville Jaguars as an UDFA, he has yet to log a snap in an NFL game. Last year with the Stallions, Austin Jr. totaled 253 receiving yards on 15 receptions and 2 touchdowns.

It’s always ideal having these extra bodies to compete during training camp, and after putting his playmaking ability on display this season with the Stallions, I’m excited to see how Austin Jr. takes advantage of his opportunity.
