
New Orleans adds to their secondary.
The New Orleans Saints have selected Virginia safety Jonas Sankerat with the 93rd overall pick in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

The 6-foot, 206 lbs. Charlottesville native was a two-time First-Team All-ACC selection and key piece of Virginia’s defense over the past two seasons. He led the Cavaliers in tackles in both 2023 and 2024, posting 107 and 98 stops respectively. Sankerat also recorded 8.5 tackles for loss and two fumble recoveries in 2024. At the NFL Combine, he displayed strong athleticism with a 4.48-second 40-yard dash and a 36.5-inch vertical jump.
