An important interview with a top choice.
With the New Orleans Saints season finally done, the team is set to enter a crucial offseason. The first step will be finding a head coach to lead for the foreseeable future. The Saints will be doing their due diligence, and depending on how the playoffs go, the team may not be able to announce their next head coach until after the Super Bowl. The Saints will also not be able to interview anyone currently coaching in the first round of the playoffs, but they can do so with teams on a first-round bye. The Detroit Lions are one of these teams, and the Saints are expected to request an interview with defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn, per Adam Schefter.
Jets, Bears and Saints all are expected to request HC interviews for Lions DC Aaron Glenn.

Aaron Glenn is going to be a heavily sought after candidate in this coaching cycle, and it makes sense. The Lions defensive coordinator is extremely skilled and has shown great leadership in Detroit’s locker room. It’s rumored that the Saints have Aaron Glenn as their top candidate for the head coach position, but other teams will also covet the talented DC. Although the Bears are also expected to request an interview with Glenn, the Jets are going to be the Saints’ biggest competition. Glenn was drafted by the Jets and played in New York for eight years. There are ties with the Jets, but the Saints also have significant ties with Glenn. He coached in New Orleans five years under Sean Payton and has an existing relationship with the front office.
