New Orleans Saints DE Cam Jordan has teamed up with USAA, the Official NFL Salute to Service Partner, and the Wounded Warrior Project to gift Sgt. Keara Torkelson and her husband a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, where they will get to meet Jordan as well as other NFL stars in person before attending the big game.

Keara Torkelson has nearly a decade of service with the U.S. Army Reserve (2006-2013), achieving the rank of Sergeant. Joining the Army right out of high school, Sgt. Torkelson served as a human resources specialist, completing basic and career training at Fort Jackson in South Carolina. In 2009, while preparing to deploy to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, she was unfortunately a victim in the Fort Hood shooting. She suffered gunshot wounds to her back and to her head and was medically retired in 2013 due to injuries sustained in the attack. After the attack at Fort Hood, Sgt. Torkelson received a Purple Heart and Meritorious Service Medal and met with President Barack Obama.
Following her military career, she pursued a career in photography and continues serving her community and fellow veterans through various mentorship and volunteer efforts. She lives in the suburbs of Kansas City with her husband, Joe, and their children. A house divided; Keara is a lifelong fan of the Kansas City Chiefs while her husband Joe supports the Minnesota Vikings. Keara will attend the Super Bowl in New Orleans with Joe, where they will both meet with current and former NFL legends at the USAA Salute to Service Lounge before attending the game.
Jordan said, “Our military gives so much for us and having family members of my own that have served, I always have the greatest appreciation for our veterans. Sgt. Keara Torkelson is an incredible example of what it means to serve, and her story has both touched and inspired me. I’m honored to partner with USAA and the Wounded Warrior Project to send her to the Super Bowl and I’m excited to meet her in New Orleans.”
Super Bowl LIX will be played on Sunday, February 9th, in the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
