New Orleans Saints defensive back J.T. Gray has been selected to the AP All-Pro Team (second-team) on special teams. This marks the 8th consecutive season that the Saints have had at least one All-Pro selection.
Gray was signed by the Saints as an undrafted free agent out of Mississippi State back in 2018. This is the 3rd time that the Clarksdale, Miss. native is an All-Pro selection, having previously earned first-team honors in 2021 and second-team in 2019. Voted by his teammates as one of the team’s special teams captains for the fourth consecutive season, Gray appeared in all 17 games and led the NFL with 26 special teams tackles, a new career high. Gray’s 16 solo coverage stops also led the league. Gray’s highlight of the 2024 season came in Week 3 against the Philadelphia Eagles, where he blocked a punt for the second time in his career.
Through his career in New Orleans, Gray has appeared in 98 career regular season games, posting 93 special teams stops, two blocked punts, a fumble recovery. On defense, Gray has recorded 14 tackles, 2.5 sacks, one pass breakup and forced one fumble. Since his first full NFL season in 2019, Gray’s 93 special teams stop lead the NFL.
