New Orleans Saints $52 million joker Taysom Hill is a cut candidate this upcoming offseason. According to several sources, the Saints will likely be letting go of Hill to free salary cap space since he falls under $18 million for 2025 which the team doesn’t have the financial liberty to keep him. At age 35, it’s fair to see why the creative general could leave New Orleans after suffering a season-ending injury that kept him out of action so he’s not worth the risk for the Saints. Originally selected as an undrafted prospect coming out of BYU, Hill now designates himself as a “tight end” after coming in certain situations as the signal-caller to pull off trickery plays.
However, this wasn’t the only position he was playing with the Saints. Running back, wide receiver and fullback are just the several three positions he took on but he hasn’t been the same in recent memory. Still, many view him as a unique player who could make an impact to move the chains. He may not have the same capabilities to run as fast but perhaps, he could fit into an offensive system that works for him. However, no one should expect him to land a massive contract like most free agents.
Hill might earn a role with the right team like the Ravens, Chargers next season where the Swiss Army Knife could sharpen his iron with them.

Creativity in Baltimore?
The Baltimore Ravens offense has been explosive for several years under quarterback Lamar Jackson who is more than a high-caliber player. After earning two back-to-back MVPs, the Ravens have the spread to open up the spread for a creative general like Hill. Offensive Coordinator Todd Monken should cook up some creative plays to juice up the momentum in the right situation which may get Baltimore to have that final push for an AFC Championship game.
The wide receiving department didn’t do a good job as they’ve been dealing with the loss of Zay Flowers in the postseason and the Diontae Johnson distractions. If anything, since the Ravens don’t have the cap space for a superstar wideout, they could settle for Hill to create some space in the aerial attack to trick opposing defenses in certain situational moments. Having a triple-threat like Derrick Henry, Justice Hill and Taysom should shape up to be what the Eagles would have been in the AFC. Perhaps, many could watch out for the Baltimore special.
A Jim Harbaugh Guy
Meanwhile, head coach Jim Harbaugh has a huge reputation for running the football handsomely well but it might be time to turn up the speed. J.K. Dobbins will likely find himself back in the fold but they could someone like Hill to make an impact in the red zone which they’ve struggled in last season. Since Harbaugh probably won’t pay much attention to improving the passing attack for quarterback Justin Herbert, they could continue bolstering the ground game with Hill’s presence. As of this posting, the only capable pass catcher is Ladd McConkey while Quentin Johnston could be a cut candidate.
Hill won’t light up the field but it provides Harbaugh a unique opportunity to open up the spread offense.
