Top NFL free agent wide receiver Keenan Allen is surprisingly still on the market but could sign soon before the draft this month. According to reports, current Chargers wideout Mike Williams has been trying to recruit Allen to reunite with him in Los Angeles. While this could be the most likely destination for Allen, there could be other suitors that may pursue interest. However, it might be hard to change Allen’s mind since he already said he’s only open to returning to the Bears or going back to the Chargers.
Despite that, it shouldn’t be surprising if a contender winds up wanting to pursue. Allen could change his mind on his options as the wide receiver has a lot in tank even though he isn’t in his prime anymore. Originally selected in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft, the former California product has won multiple honors with the Chargers since setting records for receptions and receiving yards as a rookie. Allen hasn’t been that same elite athlete in recent memory, which was why the Chargers sent him to the Bears despite recording 108 receptions for 1,243 receiving yards and seven touchdowns.
It will be up to the Chargers if they want a reunion to happen. However, they would need to act quickly since he will likely get a market after this year’s draft.

Potential Destinations
Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens don’t necessarily need another wide receiver, but it would be helpful for their Super Bowl quest. Baltimore is always close to an appearance in the big game, and pairing DeAndre Hopkins with Allen could give this roster the complete package. No one should forget Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman, as these four could be the super team to keep the Ravens competitive for one full season.
Kansas City Chiefs
After losing Hopkins in free agency, the Chiefs are in a weird spot for their wide receiver room. Xavier Worthy and Rashee Rice on the roster will give long-term relief when they can stay out of trouble. Since losing Rice to injuries last season, the team could use another weapon. Patrick Mahomes could bring out the best in Allen like he did with Hopkins as far as nostalgia.
Carolina Panthers
The Carolina Panthers were reportedly looking into trading for DK Metcalf before getting sent to Pittsburgh. Xavier Legette and Jalen Coker are two promising weapons, but they’re unproven. Adam Thielen offers veteran assistance and experience, so perhaps they could use someone like Allen to bolster it.
New Orleans Saints
Chris Olave might be on the trade block since quarterback Derek Carr is returning. The team did sign Marquez Valdes-Scantling on a temporary basis and brought the best out of him before signing with the Seahawks this offseason. Maybe the Saints could do the same with Allen while the team rebuilds.
Dallas Cowboys
If anyone needs a new wide receiver, it’s the Dallas Cowboys. The team lost Brandin Cooks, and it’s concerning they haven’t addressed the position. Keenan Allen might be their last temporary resort to give Dak Prescott a deep threat to pair with CeeDee Lamb.
