The New Orleans Saints coaching staff under head coach Kellen Moore is now officially coming together. Keith Williams, who was hired last season as the team’s wide receivers coach, will in fact remain in that role for the 2025 season under first-year head coach Kellen Moore. NewOrleans.Football’s Nick Underhill first reported this news.
Williams joined the Saints last offseason after being recruited by now-Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak. A known commodity around the league as a longtime personal trainer for star wideouts, Williams became an instant favorite in the Saints locker room. With a constant revolving door at the wide receiver position after injuries sidelined Rashid Shaheed and Chris Olave, Williams found success in preparing his backup players to play heavy minutes. Guys like Marquez Valdes-Scantling, who was signed mid-year, were able to come in and make a positive impact on the offensive side of the ball.
Credit also goes to Williams for being able to develop lesser-known players on the practice squad such as Kevin Austin Jr., Dante Pettis, and Mason Tipton, who all showed flashes either in game or through much of the training camp. He’ll get another year to teach Bub Means, too.
It comes to no surprise that Williams’ job remains secure. Being the private coach for Davante Adams and Tyreek Hill, two of the best in the game, would give anyone confidence in him and his ability to coach the position well. The return of Williams could be a major win in this team’s coaching staff search. It says a lot that Moore chose to keep him in the fold after taking this job.
