The NFL Combine is here, which means the Saints mock draft could look different with players rising and falling during one of the most important events of the scouting process. New Orleans enters the big event in an interesting position, as General Manager Mickey Loomis and first-year head coach Kellen Moore must remake this roster on the fly with limited financial resources. The only way to successfully build a competitive roster is to hit on as many draft picks as possible, and that’s what New Orleans does in this mock draft.
Note: This Saints mock draft was performed using the Pro Football Focus Mock Draft Machine. If the player was on the board when New Orleans was on the clock, they were fair game. Also note that trades were not allowed in this exercise.
Three-Round New Orleans Saints Mock Draft
First Round (9th Overall) – Tyler Warren, TE
What do you get for the team that needs everything? With offensive tackle Will Campbell and wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan off the board, New Orleans would be better off trading down and accumulating picks. However, since this Saints mock draft does not include trades, the team stays put and selects Penn State’s Tyler Warren. Nobody should expect Warren to put up Brock Bowers numbers as a rookie, but the projected first-round pick is a remarkable playmaker with the ability to line up wide, in a traditional tight end spot, and even in the Wildcat.
He’s essentially everything Sean Payton believed Taysom Hill could become, and this team desperately needs another pass-catching weapon. Whether it’s Derek Carr, Spencer Rattler, or a different veteran, Warren will make the quarterback’s life easier as a receiver while also providing adequate blocking to compensate for a weak offensive line.
Second Round (40th Overall) – Tyleik Williams, DI
The Saints used a first-round pick on Bryan Bresee in 2023, but that shouldn’t stop them from returning to the trenches in this mock draft. Bresee knows how to collapse the pocket and generate pressure from the inside, but he’s an active liability against the run. Tyleik Williams is one of the best interior run defenders in this class and has the raw athleticism to be an adequate pass rusher. While he’ll never be a double-digit sack guy, he should play all three downs and can perfectly compensate for Bresee’s struggles against the run.
Third Round (71st Overall) – Kaleb Johnson, RB
The 2025 NFL Draft class is loaded with talent at the running back position, so the Saints find their starter of the future in the third round of this mock draft. Alvin Kamara signed a two-year extension, but the perennial Pro Bowler isn’t getting any younger. Even at his peak, Kamara was at his best in a committee approach, and Kaleb Johnson’s powerful, downhill running perfectly complements Kamara’s elusive style of play.
Third Round (93rd Overall) – Marcus Mbow, OT/OG
The Saints wrap up their mock draft with a versatile player with plenty of starting experience. Purdue’s Marcus Mbow spent the past two seasons at right tackle, but scouts across the league believe his smaller build could force him to move to guard. This shouldn’t be a dealbreaker for New Orleans, as they need help at tackle and guard. Mbow played guard before switching to tackle, so it shouldn’t take long for the Purdue product to re-learn the position if Kellen Moore doesn’t view him as a tackle.
