Former New Orleans Saints offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak continues to bring his fellow colleagues to his new home in Seattle.
The Seahawks are hiring former Saints senior offensive assistant Rick Dennison as the team’s run game coordinator under Kubiak, per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. Dennison spent the entire 2024 season working with the Saints offensive line after a three-year hiatus following his time in Minnesota.
Dennison, a three-time Super Bowl champion assistant, was a pivotal piece in the improvement of the offensive line this past season in New Orleans. We saw players like tackle Trevor Penning go from what looked like a liability on the O-line, to putting together an overall solid season in his third year. Center Erik McCoy also took his game to another level as the highest-graded player at his position this last season per PFF, even with missing time. Rookie first-round pick Taliese Fuaga also showed some promise with the help of Dennison in Year 1 as well.
This overall improved line play also helped guys like Alvin Kamara who had his best season since 2021 and would’ve likely hit the 1,000-yard benchmark had he stayed healthy the entire year.
Dennison will now get the opportunity to work with one of the youngest offensive lines in the league, one that will pave the way for a supremely talented back in Kenneth Walker and his running mate Zach Charbonnet.
