Kellen Moore hasn’t even officially taken the New Orleans Saints head coaching job yet, but he’s already outdone his predecessor. As observed by superfan “Darth Saint” on social media, Moore went 2-0 in games at the Caesars Superdome this season — winning more matchups than Dennis Allen did, who was fired after his 2-7 start to the 2024 season. The Saints were 1-3 at home during that span.
Moore’s Eagles beat Allen and the Saints head-to-head in Week 3, with two Saquon Barkley touchdown runs powering them to a hard-fought 15-12 victory. Then they returned for Super Bowl LIX and sent the two-time defending champions away with a 40-22 rout of the Kansas City Chiefs. He’s clearly comfortable calling plays in New Orleans.
But can the Saints seal the deal? While Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie is prepared to say goodbye to Moore after winning a championship, head coach Nick Sirianni hasn’t given up hope, and has made at least one impassioned plea to run it back together in 2025. All expectations have been that the Saints will finalize a deal with Moore after the Super Bowl. But until he puts pen to paper, don’t rule anything out.
