Former seven-time Pro Bowler safety Jalen Ramsey posts cryptic message on his Instagram story that could indicate he wants a trade. According to a report, Ramsey might become the latest player out of Miami who wants to move on since posting a long Instagram story with an analogy hint. This comes after star wide receiver Tyreek Hill stated he also wants out in a post-game interview since their embarrassing loss against the New York Jets. After restructuring their contracts, it seems they want to head to a team with a viable opportunity to be a competitor in the postseason, which isn’t surprising.
Originally selected in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft, the former Florida State product got the snub from the Dallas Cowboys anticipating them to select him but later joined the Jacksonville Jaguars to make a name for himself. Ramsey was a top-10 cornerback, earning his first All-Pro nod in 2017 and helping the Jaguars end their postseason drought. However, all things came to an end following a standoff in contracts where he found himself heading to the Los Angeles Rams in 2019 in a trade midseason. Ramsey was a journeyman for the majority of his career since leaving Jacksonville.
This isn’t the first time the veteran posted a cryptic message, leading to a trade to Miami in 2023. It will likely be the same case for the safety again in this situation. However, the good news is that there will be several rosters keeping tabs on him this offseason. He might need to join a roster on a “prove it” deal before signing a long-term extension.

Next Possible Teams
Baltimore Ravens
Chances are, the Baltimore Ravens will need to focus most of their offseason on revamping the entire secondary after the postseason. The pass defense was one of the worst in recent memory despite talent like Marlon Humphrey and rookie Nate Wiggins holding up their end of the bargain. Head Coach John Harbaugh made a tough decision to bench Marcus Williams in favor of Ar’Darius Washington which has paid off hugely. However, as the defense is getting younger, they need more experience at depth to remain a consistent playoff team for years to come.
Jalen Ramsey might not have been the same elite player he was in Jacksonville but being a part of the same safety room with Kyle Hamilton could provide the boost the defense needs. Baltimore never fails to bring out the best in veterans and Ramsey could play at his peak again playing for a team that has a lot of talent.
New Orleans Saints
Meanwhile, the New Orleans Saints might look the same since General Manager Mickey Loomis doesn’t want to rebuild. However, this will depend on if they want to save some salary cap which they may have to release some veterans for relief. One of those players, includes Tyrann Mathieu, a star they can’t afford. After losing Marshon Lattimore in a trade already this past midseason, the Saints will need more star power in New Orleans if they want to make the playoffs next season.
Perhaps, Jalen Ramsey might have some gas in his tank but he would easily be a temporary relief for the team’s defense. Despite Jordan Howard having a lot of potential, the Saints still need some experience to give them a chance against opponents.
Kansas City Chiefs
The Kansas City Chiefs will likely win another Super Bowl if they can keep up their momentum despite resting their starters in the last game of the regular season. Impending free agent Justin Reid will likely exit the team to find a contract that makes him the highest-paid safety in NFL history. With that, the Chiefs will probably have a hard time re-signing several stars like linebacker Nick Bolton and wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins. They should take a chance on Ramsey if available to give some insurance policy while they find a new safety in the upcoming NFL Draft if they lose Reid.
