The former start could be set to leave in free agency.
Last season, the New Orleans Saints offensive line dealt with constant injuries and new starters every week. Going into training camp, Nick Saldiveri was set to be the Saints’ starting left guard, but after suffering an injury early on, Lucas Patrick took over in that spot. At the beginning of the season, Patrick was really good at LG, but he was forced to fill in at other positions, and even more injuries occurred. Then Patrick dealt with his own injuries, which knocked him out for some time. One thing stayed true: Lucas Patrick shined in the Klint Kubiak zone-run offense. Now, Kubiak is the offensive coordinator of the Seattle Seahawks, and with Patrick being a free agent, there should be apparent interest there. Well, today, the Seattle Seahawks hosted Lucas Patrick.

The Saints were very unlikely to retain Lucas Patrick on the same contract they signed him for last season, so losing him was expected. The issue now is that the Saints truly do not have a starter at LG, and they need to find one.
