New Orleans could look to try and add the 7x Pro Bowler.
The New Orleans Saints could be a potential landing spot for Miami Dolphins cornerback Jalen Ramsey.

Ramsey and the Dolphins have mutually agreed to part ways, per ESPN. The veteran cornerback spent two seasons with Miami, but as the team looks to get younger, they’ll look to move on from the nine-year veteran.
Ramsey has connections to Saints defensive coordinator Brandon Staley and praised his former defensive play caller on Twitter/X after signing with New Orleans, calling him “the best defensive coordinator that I’ve had for sure in the NFL.”
Trading for Ramsey wouldn’t likely cost the Saints much draft capital, but the hefty contract the veteran cornerback brings could be a turn-off for New Orleans. The trading team would owe the 7x Pro Bowler $21 million guaranteed in 2025 and $ 21 million+ over the next three seasons. While the final three years of Ramsey’s contract aren’t guaranteed and could be restructured, the Saints aren’t in a place where they could comfortably take on such a big contract in year one.

The next option is to wait for Miami to release Ramsey. The Saints seem to be a possible destination for the veteran cornerback but would have to put a lot of weight into Staley’s presence. New Orleans isn’t on track to be a competitive team in 2025 and certainly can’t offer Ramsey the most money. While it is unknown what criteria Ramsey is looking for in his next team, if he were to join the Saints, it likely wouldn’t be for a chance at getting paid or to win.
New Orleans could certainly look to add to their secondary and has done so in Free agency. The Saints signed safety Justin Reid to a three-year contract and were very aggressive in their pursuit of former San Francisco 49ers cornerback Chavarius Ward before he decided to sign with the Indianapolis Colts. New Orleans has already been named as a possible suitor, and a connection with the former All-Pro’s favorite coordinator may help the team land Ramsey.
