
New Orleans sends a 2026 7th round pick in return.
The New Orleans Saints have traded a 2026 7th round NFL draft pick to the New England Patriots in exchange for DT Davon Godchaux.

Godchaux is a Louisiana native who played for the LSU Tigers for 3 seasons. He was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the 5th round (178th overall) in the 2017 NFL Draft. He later signed with the Patriots in 2021. Godchaux didn’t miss a game in his four years with the Patriots.
According to Next Gen Stats, Godchaux made 94.4% of his tackles in 2024, ranking him 2nd among all NFL defensive tackles.
He will now return home to play with the Saints under new defensive coordinator Brandon Staley.
