Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen could be recruiting Chiefs impending free agent Marquise Brown this offseason. According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Bills will likely try their best to snag Brown in the market even though he desires to return to Kansas City. It’s easy to see why the Bills would try to recruit Brown considering he always wanted to have him as one of their pass catchers last offseason. However, after the Amari Cooper trade, the plans didn’t fall through since Brown was already in Chiefs uniform.
Brown heading to Buffalo could spark the rivalry even further after the Chiefs were able to defeat the Bills again in the last AFC Championship game despite the embarrassing Super Bowl loss. However, the Bills will be in the market for a new wide receiver since Cooper will hit the market and probably will demand a more expensive contract in his next deal. Perhaps, the Chiefs shouldn’t worry if Brown decides to depart for now to the Bills but it shouldn’t be surprising if it does happen since the team doesn’t have the cap space to sign Brown back. Unless he’s willing to take another bargain for a one-year which is unlikely, Brown could be heading to Buffalo to join forces with Allen and become the No. 1 receiver on that offense that are still postseason contenders.
Despite that, two teams could intervene in the talks that will likely look into bringing in Brown for a visit since he will have market starting next month if the Chiefs don’t figure out how to pay him. The Saints, Ravens could be frontrunners to sign Marquise Brown.

Finding a Bargain
The New Orleans Saints need to find a capable wide receiver this offseason no matter who the quarterback will be under head coach Kellen Moore’s reins. Meanwhile, the team has a huge decision to make on the future of wideout Chris Olave and they have until May to pick up his fifth-year option. With the way their financial situation is going, the Saints might have to trade Olave to another team if they don’t have the funds to extend him. The Saints are in cap hell and if they lose Olave, they could sign a cheap bargain veteran like Marquise Brown to take over his spot.
New Orleans might not be nowhere near a postseason contention but the presence of Brown should increase those chances. As it stands, Rashid Shaheed is the only dependable active wide receiver they have on the depth chart. Marquez Valdes-Scantling was only brought in for a year to boost the offense while Derek Carr was out for an injury. However, while they will likely sign a cheap veteran, they will be in the market to draft a wide receiver.
Back to Baltimore?
A reunion with the Baltimore Ravens might intrigue Brown if he doesn’t return to the Chiefs. The two parties have too much chemistry and the state of the wide receiver department is only getting worse since Nelson Agholor will become a free agent. Perhaps, they should let Agholor walk and bring Brown back on a budget to see if he’s capable of bringing a championship home.
He isn’t going to take over as the No. 1 receiver over Zay Flowers but it gives Lamar Jackson another friend in the aerial attack that he knows very well.
