These quarterbacks rasied their stock at the combine.
The New Orleans Saints may be in the market for a young quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft with the upcoming season likely being Derek Carr’s last in New Orleans.
On Saturday, the quarterbacks took the field to try and improve their draft stock. While projected QB1 and QB2 Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders decided to sit out of drills, enticing names such as Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart and Missouri quarterback Brady Cook were present and participating in drills.
1. Jaxson Dart

Projected second-round selection Jaxson Dart did everything to help keep his name in contention of being called on day two and possibly sneaking into the first round. His accuracy in the short and midrange stayed consistent and just as his tape showed, Dart threw with anticipation, something much harder to do with receivers you just this week. The biggest knock-on Dart coming out has been his lack of deep pass accuracy. While this remains a concern, the versatile quarterback showed solid short to medium accuracy and arm strength in his throwing drills. The Ole Miss quarterback finished 18/23 passing.

2. Brady Cook

Missouri quarterback Brady Cook started the combine strong with impressive testing in athletic fields. He ran a 4.59 40-yard dash (fastest among the three participating quarterbacks), a 47” vertical, and scored a 10’8” broad jump, one inch shy of Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson’s record. But for Cook it wasn’t only his measurements that impressed. The 6’2 quarterback was lights out as a passer. He was hitting on short, medium, and long-range passes. With his positive testing and performance, Cook will certainly be the biggest riser on draft boards. The Missouri quarterback earned an unofficial 9.68 RAS score, making him an intriguing athlete.
3. Quinn Ewers

Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers had a solid day throwing the football on Saturday, completing 16/22 passes. The short and midrange passes were routine for the three-year starter. The problems started to appear when Ewers had to make throws with anticipation, as there were some bad misses on throws as the receiver broke. However, this is more of an issue due to unfamiliarity with the receivers rather than a mechanical issue and could be fixed with time and coaching. His biggest issues on the day would come on the deep range passes. Ewers’ arm strength was often not enough to deliver the ball in stride, leading receivers to slow down to make the reception. Despite the concerns, Ewers was a solid passer on the day and worked to solidify himself as a day two pick.
4. Jalen Milroe

Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe’s combine measurements came back shocking as his hands measured 9 3/8 inches, 5/8ths of an inch bigger than just one month before at the Senior Bowl. Milroe’s hand growth alone set the two-year starter up for a win at the combine, but Milroe backed it up with a solid day throwing. The Alabama quarterback’s passes had a more noticeable zip than any other participating passer on Saturday. While accuracy issues remained prevalent during workouts, especially to the outside, Milroe was able to show off his arm strength on the deep balls.

The Saints have been named as a team that could be interested in selecting a quarterback early in the draft and have already set up meetings with Miami’s Cam Ward and Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders. If New Orleans opts to go a different position at nine overall, these prospects become more intriguing targets in day two.
