Trey Murphy III has been diagnosed by the New Orleans Pelicans with a right hamstring strain. An MRI taken on Thursday confirmed the injury, which occurred during Wednesday evening’s practice. Murphy will be re-examined in approximately three weeks.
Murphy is currently eligible for a rookie scale extension. If Murphy and the Pelicans are unable to agree to terms on a contract, he will become a restricted free agent in 2025.
In 57 games last season, Murphy averaged 14.8 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 29.7 minutes.
