Maybe the greatest LSU offensive linemen ever is going pro
In maybe the least surprising news you’ll see all football season, Will Campbell has announced he’s entering the 2025 NFL Draft.
Campbell announced his decision on his Instagram Tuesday afternoon; he did not say whether or not he’ll play in whatever bowl game LSU is invited to.

“There aren’t enough words to describe the impact LSU, the Baton Rouge community and the state of Louisiana has had on my life,” Campbell wrote. “Over the past three years, I was blessed to live out my childhood dream of being an LSU Tiger. I give all the glory to God for these opportunities.”
Campbell came to LSU as one of the top players in his recruiting class and surpassed even the highest of expectations anyone could have had. He enrolled early as a freshman and was LSU’s starting left tackle almost immediately. Campbell has been the key cog in the Tiger offensive line over his 38 career games.
Campbell earned Freshman All-American honors in 2022, and was first-team All-SEC in 2023. He’ll likely earn All-SEC and All-American honors this season; he’s also a finalist for the Lombardi Trophy, which is given annually to the nation’s best lineman.
Campbell is a lock to go in the first round of April’s NFL Draft, the only question will be how highly is he selected. Pro Football Focus has him as the No. 1 offensive tackle in the class. When Campbell gets selected, he’ll be LSU’s first offensive linemen to get picked in the first round since Alan Faneca went 28th to Pittsburgh in 1998; he’ll also be the first LSU tackle to go in the first round since George Rice was picked 12th overall by Chicago all the way back in 1966.
