The fun continues tonight
The push for Paris continues tonight in a venue that’s been good to the Tigers recently. Incoming freshmen Kaliya Lincoln and Lexi Zeiss will compete tonight at the 2024 U.S. Championships at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, the same place in which LSU won their national championship last month. The meet serves as a qualifier to the Olympic Trials in June. The meet is the first of three sessions for senior women and begins at 6:45 p.m. The meet will be broadcast live on Peacock tonight and tape delay broadcast tomorrow on CNBC at 1:30 p.m.
Simone Biles will headline this session. Gabby Douglas ended her Olympic comeback before podium training, and Shilese Jones pulled out of the competition earlier today. She will petition to make the Olympic Trials and should succeed. For those wondering where Konnor McClain is, she tore her Achilles warming up on floor after a stellar beam set at Classics.
Both future LSU gymnasts will be competing in the all-around and are part of the same group. They will begin on bars and rotate in Olympic order. They looked solid at Classics, and they’ll be looking to show that they belong in Minneapolis.
