Peak offseason content
Now that the college baseball season has ended we’re officially in the offseason for college athletics.
Texas and Oklahoma will officially join the SEC on July 1. SEC Media Days aren’t for another three weeks; the ever important preseason AP Poll won’t come out till sometime in the middle of August; and Week 0 is still about two months away.
The good news is if you’re liked me and starved for college football, EA’s much anticipated college football game releases in just under a month (July 19) and the developers at EA are calling this week “release week” where they’ll tease a little more information about the game. In the true spirit of college football, the first release that EA put out today was a ranking—we love ranking things don’t we folks?— of the game’s toughest places to play and Tiger Stadium checked in at No. 3 on the list.

Texas A&M was ranked number one followed by Alabama, LSU, Ohio State, and Georgia. Penn State, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Florida State and Florida round out the top 10.
Based off my Tiger Band experience I didn’t find A&M to be that tough of a venue to play at. I only went once, it was the year Leonard Fournette ran that dude over and I got into it with this A&M frat bro. Kyle Field is big, sure, but I’m not sure I’d call it the most intimidating stadium to play at. Then again the last time LSU won in College Station Obama was still president so clearly the Ags are doing something right.
Tiger Stadium ranking third is fine I guess. When Death Valley is at its absolute best it’s certainly one of the most intimidating stadiums in the country. And I hate to praise Florida in anything, but I think people don’t realize how tough of a place The Swamp is to play. I’ve been three times and they are right on top of you. If you’ve never been, go.
The rest of the top 25 toughest stadiums to play in was also released.
