When it rains, it pours.
The LSU Tigers off three straight defeats, look to better the horrible week that saw the Tigers lose the top QB in recruiting and see if there is any fight left in this year’s squad.
After that debacle last week vs. Florida, the Tigers need to come out swinging in this one right? Brian Kelly and his staff had better hope so, seeing all the talk in the boards this week has been less than kind.
From third down efficacy, player props, team defense/offense numbers and more, we will have a little bit of everything as we roll on this season.
Last season we ended with a positive record (2022: 19-17, 2023: 19-17) and we will look to do so once more. We went 1-2 yet again and will look to be better with not much football left as we are reminded of the narrow margins that win you money in the betting world as we move on to this week. (13-16 in 2024)
Today, we take a look at predicting three specific areas for the team. Remember these are bold predictions. (All stats via CFBSTATS)
1 Garrett Nussmeier AND Diego Pavia OVER 250 Passing Yards
Back to the squares, let’s get a fun one here as I expect some airing out of the ball by both sides. A motivated Vandy side and a wounded Tiger side that needs to respond make me favor this one.
Expect big plays and defensive holes to pop up and that favors a game script with a lot of yards for both QB.

2 OVER 53.5 Game Total (-105, DKSB)
Points galore here, the defense hasn’t been better and Nuss has to put on better tape for the NFL right? Give me the over, mid to high twenties for both gives us this one, so let’s hope we have at least a competitive game.
Lots of injuries on both sides and the models have the LSU favored here somehow, 70-37 at ESPN’s FPI, but still this has just the recipe for a pretty motivated Vandy side and one where the Tigers have to show face for their head coach after a rough week.
Which means it’ll be a snooze fest with our gambling luck this time.
3 Mason Taylor ATTD (+160, ESPNBET)
Yep, this is the game. Taylor’s getting a touchdown!
They have to come out firing vs. this Commodore side and not let the last three weeks impact them all that much. Give Brian Kelly some signs of life and find your tight end for a nice TD in this one.
Back Nuss and the people’s tight end and hope Kelly can fight back some of these demons this week and give the fans a win in an otherwise disappointing season.
Final score prediction: LSU 30-27 Vanderbilt
That will do it for this week’s very specific predictions. Let us know what you think and give us some of your own!
