Swing for the fences here vs. the Bruins.
The LSU Tigers face a topsy turvy UCLA Bruins side this weekend at home. It’s a high afternoon game taking place at 3.30p (2.40p, God’s time) and will be a scorcher.
The Tigers will look to better last week’s win vs. South Carolina and maybe make it not so dramatic this time around.
From third down efficacy, player props, team defense/offense numbers and more, we will have a little bit of everything as we roll on this season.
Last season we ended with a positive record (2022: 19-17, 2023: 19-17) and we will look to do so once more. (3-6 in 2024)
Today, we take a look at predicting three specific areas for the team. Remember these are bold predictions. (All stats via CFBSTATS)
1 Garrett Nussmeier OVER 280.5 Passing Yards
While the prop missed last week, it might need to hit this week for LSU to feel good about its QB. The fact that it’s been the passing of Nuss keeping LSU in games, he needs to explode here vs. this less than stellar defense. As such, a big game here vs. an opponent you should beat, needs to happen.

2 Game Total UNDER 30.5 First Half (-120, via DKSB)
Listen, the defense has a lot to make up for, from Harold Perkins (even if he was solid) Major Burns and just about everyone else can play better. That needs to happen here vs. this lackluster UCLA side.
With that said, I’m banking on a bit of help from the defensive mindset and hope it goes better than last week.
3 Mason Taylor ATTD (+120, via DKSB)
Let’s change it up, UCLA has vulnerable spots everywhere on defense but that linebacker core could be exploited. Let Nuss Buss cook and find his tight end in a curl or some type of flat route and let’s get him on the board in this one.
This should be a very attainable target.
Final score prediction: LSU 34-24 South Carolina
That will do it for this week’s very specific predictions. Let us know what you think and give us some of your own!
