Big SEC opener with College Gameday treatment!
The LSU Tigers open the SEC slate vs. the Gamecocks of South Carolina. Could it be a start of something bigger for Brian Kelly and the squad?
The Tigers will look to bounce back and give the fans a statement win in this one.
From third down efficacy, player props, team defense/offense numbers and more, we will have a little bit of everything as we roll on this season.
Last season we ended with a positive record (2022: 19-17, 2023: 19-17) and we will look to do so once more. (3-3 in 2024)
Today, we take a look at predicting three specific areas for the team. Remember these are bold predictions. (All stats via CFBSTATS)
1 Garrett Nussmeier OVER 300.5 Passing Yards
Stick to the tried and true and through the first two weeks it’s been the passing of Nuss. As such, a big game here in his first SEC matchup of the young season could go a long way for his reputation in the CFB world.
Considering that and adding the SEC gauntlet, LSU needs a big time performance from its leader. A hot start could see us hitting this one with plenty of time and make for some fun action. Sign up for PrizePicks with an exclusive code: PR-FLCK5IA
2 Game Total UNDER 23.5 First Half (+105 via DKSB)
I really like this one as a hit as the weather can be a factor in this week’s matchup. So, a first half under protects us from garbage time, late game heroics etc.
With it, I’m banking on a bit of help from the defense and hope it goes better than ;ast week.
3 Kyren Lacy OVER 69.5 Receiving Yards
Lacy played well in the previous two matchups and here with the SEC opener and a fired up Nuss Buss, he should feast. This prop allows him to do really shine and even the dreaded weather reports should have no impact on this one.
This should be the easiest hit of the night.
Final score prediction: LSU 31-27 South Carolina
That will do it for this week’s very specific predictions. Let us know what you think and give us some of your own!
