A PERFECT WEEK!
The LSU Tigers face a tough test at home this time around after the break. The Ole Miss Rebels visit Baton Rouge at night and it’s set to be a barn burner.
The Tigers will look to better last time out’s win and in playing Ole Miss, could maybe make it run of wins after the debacle in Las Vegas.
From third down efficacy, player props, team defense/offense numbers and more, we will have a little bit of everything as we roll on this season.
Last season we ended with a positive record (2022: 19-17, 2023: 19-17) and we will look to do so once more. We went 3-0 and had our first perfect week of the season, we move on to this week. (7-8 in 2024)
Today, we take a look at predicting three specific areas for the team. Remember these are bold predictions. (All stats via CFBSTATS)
1 Garrett Nussmeier OVER 295.5 Passing Yards
While this prop has hit every week, but one, this might replace a passing yardage record for ol’ Nuss Buss. Expect a lot of throwing. A big game here vs. an opponent you need to beat to have any post-season playoff hopes, the yards need to flow and needs to happen for the Tigers to win. We continue that with the receivers coming into sync with the QB and the emergence of a more reliable TE and we could have this one earlier than usually thought.

2 Game Total OVER 61.5 Full Game (-115, via DKSB)
Life’s too short to bet the under. Give me offense, offense and more offense, LSU (probably) did not learn to tackle and Ole Miss should be angry enough to score points after a disappointing one last time out for them. Lots of injuries on both sides and the models have the Rebels favored, 68-32 at ESPN’s FPI, still this has just the recipe for an over and I like the full game one as it should be pleasurable weather wise as well. Let’s hope for an offensive explosion!
Make this an easy win!
3 Mason Taylor Any Time Touch Down (+185, ESPNBET)
Back to this well as we think the big tight end can have success vs. the Rebels linebackers. Expect some more usage here as well, given injuries in the backfield and we could see a monster game for Taylor. Nuss Buss needs to target him early and often and help expose those soft zones in Ole Miss’ coverage. A red zone TD seems most likely to me and with a high scoring affair that we all expect it to be, it will bring plenty of opportunity.
This should be a very attainable one based on targets and because of that we will take it.
Final score prediction: LSU 45-42 Ole Miss
That will do it for this week’s very specific predictions. Let us know what you think and give us some of your own!
