Let down spot for the Sooners?
The LSU Tigers finally win a game! It comes vs. an injured Vanderbilt side and at home, but it was needed for Kelly and his team, still battling off the three losses that shook them.
After the win, and Oklahoma really winning big vs. Bama, the Tigers are in prime opportunity mode to steal this one and keep the vibes at least moderately upbeat heading into signing day and the bowl game. Brian Kelly and his staff had better hope so, seeing all the talk in the boards this week has been less than kind.
From third down efficacy, player props, team defense/offense numbers and more, we will have a little bit of everything as we roll on this season.
Last season we ended with a positive record (2022: 19-17, 2023: 19-17) and we will look to do so once more. We went 0-3 yet and will look to be better with not much football left as we are reminded of the narrow margins that win you money in the betting world as we move on to this week. (13-19 in 2024)
Today, we take a look at predicting three specific areas for the team. Remember these are bold predictions. (All stats via CFBSTATS)
1 Caden Durham OVER 30.5 Rushing Yards
Back to the squares, let’s get a fun one here as I expect some running of the ball, seeing the success last week. On the other side is Brent Venables and he will be no easy task, but the running backs have been better and with Josh Williams being last week’s star, let;s get Caden in on this one.
Need some early run to set up play action and we could cook with this one.

2 OVER 23.5 First Hal Total (-105, DKSB)
Can you see it? A 14-10 halftime score that gives us the win here, would be really nice given last week’s failure of a full game over.
Lots of injuries on both sides and the models have the LSU favored here somehow, 60-40 at ESPN’s FPI, but still this has just the recipe for a pretty high scoring affair and we will take the first half to avoid any second half lingering or wooziness on a holiday weekend.
Which means it’ll be a snooze fest with our gambling luck this time. Let’s hope not and for a fun game to close the season strong.
3 Mason Taylor ATTD (+180, ESPNBET)
Going down with the ship! Think this Sooner team can be had in the middle and its why I like this one finally hitting.
They have to come out firing vs. this Sooner side and try to build on last week’s win. Give Brian Kelly some more signs of life and find your tight end for a nice TD in this one.
Back Nuss and the people’s tight end and hope Kelly can fight back some of these demons.
Final score prediction: LSU 27-24 Oklahoma
