Back to basics as LSU looks to bounce back.
The LSU Tigers open the home slate vs. Nicholls as they lick their wounds after the debacle in Las Vegas & the loss to the USC Trojans.
The Tigers will look to bounce back and give the home fans a statement win in this one.
From third down efficacy, player props, team defense/offense numbers and more, we will have a little bit of everything as we roll on this season.
Last season we ended with a positive record (2022: 19-17, 2023: 19-17) and we will look to do so once more. (2-1 in 2024)
Today, we take a look at predicting three specific areas for the team. Remember these are bold predictions. (All stats via CFBSTATS)
1 Garrett Nussmeier OVER 3.5 Total Touchdown’s
Nuss played pretty well, all things considered vs. the Trojans, but he can and needs to improve if LSU wants any shot at the playoff this season. As such, a big game here in his first home game this season could go a long way.
Considering that and adding the SEC schedule begins next week, LSU needs a big time performance from its leader. A hot start could see us hitting this one pretty early and make for some action. Sign up for PrizePicks with an exclusive code: PR-FLCK5IA
2 LSU Defense has 2+ Takeaways
I really like this one as a hit which should have me worried given the state of this defense. Still, Between Harold Perkins, Major Burns and more, someone has to give this defense life and they can achieve that by having some turnovers this game.
With it, I’m banking on someone stepping up and making this game a coming out of sorts, given the play vs. USC was less than stellar.
3 Kyren Lacy OVER 80.5 Receiving Yards
Lacy played well in the matchup vs. USC and here with a home opener and a fired up Nuss Buss, he should feast vs. Nicholls. This prop allows him to do really shine and score some brownie points with LSU fans ahead of the SEC opener South Carolina the following week.
This should be the easiest hit of the night.
Final score prediction: LSU 41-10 Nicholls
That will do it for this week’s very specific predictions. Let us know what you think and give us some of your own!
