Thanks I hate it
Monday marks the official day that Texas and Oklahoma join the SEC.
The league is now comprised of 16 teams and the beloved SEC East and West divisions are now a thing of the past. As a reminder for football, to make the SEC Championship game you have to finish first or second in the league’s overall standings. RIP SEC East and West, 1992-2024.
Sunday thousands of Texas fans poured into Austin to celebrate the event. Pitbull was there, because when I think of the SEC I think of Miami native Pitbull doing a welcoming show in Austin.

Speaking of Texas and the SEC, it looks like the conference is already trying to claim Vince Young and that Longhorn team’s win over USC as a peak moment in SEC history.

Beautiful. That? Y’all that right there’s another classic SEC win over traditional Big 10 powerhouse—checks notes—USC?
Oklahoma, meanwhile, had some festivities of their own over in Norman and today both the Paul Finebaum show and SEC Now will be live from Oklahoma’s campus. Today’s also Oklahoma’s day for the annual SEC Network takeover.

The SEC wasn’t the only league officially welcoming in new schools today. The ACC officially admitted Cal, Stanford, and SMU into their ranks. As for the new look B1G, USC, UCLA, Oregon, and Washington won’t officially join the conference until August 2. What a silly world we live in.
Who do you think will be the first Longhorn/Sooner legends the SEC recognizes during halftime of the SEC Championship game? My money’s on Vince Young and the Boz. Anyway…welcome I guess, Oklahoma and Texas. Boomer Sooner, Horns Down and things of that nature.
