Olivia Dunne and her LSU gymnastics teammates are in Los Angeles Thursday night for the annual ESPY Awards.
Tigers star Haleigh Bryant is up for two honors: Best Breakthrough Athlete and Best College Athlete, Women’s Sports. Overall, 20 LSU gymnasts are at the Dolby Theatre for the occasion.
The group posed for photos on the red carpet beforehand, both as a unit and with Dunne getting her own shots in a bold gold dress.
LSU captured its first national championship in program history in 2024. Though Dunne did not compete during the final rounds, she was a factor in several meets throughout the season.
The 21-year-old Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model announced this week that she’ll be returning to school for her final season in 2024-25.
“Dear LSU: These past four years have changed my life,” Dunne said in a video on Monday. “There’s something about putting on a purple and gold leotard. There’s something about competing in front of 13,000 screaming Tiger fans. There’s something about being pushed by your coaches to be your very best, and there’s something about being part of a team that made school history.
“And no matter how many opportunities come my way off the mat, there’s just something about LSU. That’s why, I’m here to say, I’m not Dunne yet.”
You can watch the ESPYs right now via live stream and on ABC.
