A Heisman winning LSU QB had a 50 yard TD run… can you guess which one it was?
This past weekend of NFLSU action was not quite as exciting as the current Tigers, but there was still a lot to talk about.

Anthony Bradford blocked in some sweet throwback uniforms.
NFLSU Score: 1/10
Jaguars 16 at Bears 35 (in London)
Brian Thomas Jr. caught three passes for 27 yards. It’s too bad he wasn’t able to watch LSU beat Ole Miss the night before because he deserved the win last year with the game he had in Oxford.
NFLSU Score: 3/10
Texans 41 at Patriots 21
Danielle Hunter had two tackles, including his long overdue first sack as a Texan. Derek Stingley Jr. had three tackles with a pass breakup. The real story of this game is the first career NFL TD for Kayshon Boutte!

In his first game with his new QB, Boutte had a career best 59 yards on three catches. While I don’t think LSU fans have any kind of contempt for Boutte the way we do for Ben Simmons, his college career ended in a way that was extremely weird and just all around not fun. Seeing him bounce back by having a decent pro career would be pretty cool.

Commanders 23 at Ravens 30
In the battle of QBs that are extremely unfair in Madden, our rookie came up just short despite playing a very good game. Jayden Daniels was 24/35 for 269 yards with 2 TDs while also running for 22 yards (a team-high, yikes) on six carries. He had Tony Romo gushing, which annoys a lot of people, but is fun to hear when it’s someone you love. Jayden’s legend will continue to grow and hopefully we’ll get to see them flexed into prime time now that they’ve shown the league they can hang with some of the best teams.
NFLSU Score: 8/10
Buccaneers 51 at Saints 27
Tyrann Mathieu made one tackle before leaving with a forearm injury. Foster Moreau led the Saints with 54 yards on two catches. The people of Tampa have been having a rough time, so I hope they’re doing okay.
NFLSU Score: 5/10
Browns 16 at Eagles 20
Both Grant Delpit and Ethan Pocic were out with injuries. I hope they heal up quickly, but I am glad I don’t have to acknowledge this Browns team.

Cardinals 13 at Packers 34
Nothing here either.

Colts 20 at Titans 17
Arden Key and Ali Gaye each had one tackle.

Kristian Fulton left with a hamstring injury, and DJ Chark has still not been activated off IR.

Steelers 32 at Raiders 13
Patrick Queen led the game with a whopping 13 tackles, while Donte Jackson had his third interception in three games.
“O’Connell, delivers it downfield and he delivers it to the other team…The wheels have come off for the Raiders.”

D-Jax is just one pick away from tying his career guy. Awesome to see from a guy who we kind of forgot about in the Carolina Panthers wilderness. Speaking of…

Damone Clark led the Cowboys with nine tackles. He’s innocent!! Mekhi Wingo played but did not record a tackle.

Bengals 17 at Giants 7
All year we’ve complained about the Bengals defense and of course once they’re finally in prime time again we get a boring defensive slugest. Oh well, at least Joe Burrow’s one TD was wild!
JOEY LEGS FOR THE TD!

Real Burrowheads will remember a similarly long run against a supposedly elite defense during his time at LSU and guess what: it happened six years ago to the day of the above run!

Joe went 19/28 for 208 yards. It looked like his rookie year out there with him getting sacked four times and hit seven times. The Giants defense keyed in on Ja’Marr Chase, who finished with five catches for 72 yards. Cor’Dale Flott was one of the guys tasked with covering him. and as soon as NBC spotlighted his efforts, Joe and Ja’Marr delivered this spectacular big play.

Respect to Flott, though. The biggest bummer of this game was Malik Nabers still being out with a concussion, robbing us of seeing the two best WRs in LSU history go head to head in prime time. While his future is still exciting, that really sucks, especially after the all-time LSU QB duel a few weeks ago lived up to the hype. The abundance of LSU talent in the pros is making me actually miss the Pro Bowl for once.

Will Clapp and Jarrick Bernard-Converse were both out, so I hope you like some Reid Ferguson action!
