BOMBS AWAY
The 2024 LSU Football team was on a bye this past weekend, which was a blessing given the carnage that happened around the rest of the country. But plenty of LSU alumni were active on Sunday and Monday, and there were fireworks. Let’s break it down game by game.
Buccaneers 30 at Falcons 36 (OT)
Trey Palmer played, but did not record a catch. Once again, this barely counts.
NFLSU Score: 0.5/10
Jets 17 at Vikings 23
All it took to finally keep Justin Jefferson out the end zone in 2024 was playing the game in a different continent. His six catches for 92 yards were still both the best on the 5-0 Vikings. Ed Ingram and Jay Ward also played.
NFLSU Score: 6/10
Ravens 41 at Bengals 38 (OT)
It’s officially looking like a lost season in Cincinnati… but at least our guys lit it up! Joe Burrow was 30/39 for 392 yards with a career high 5 TD passes and 1 INT. Ja’Marr Chase caught ten passes for an absurd 193 yards with 2 TDs. The first one was an absolute bomb, in classic Ja’Marr Chase fashion:
BURROW TO CHASE. 41-YARD TD.

The second one was… also completely ridiculous in classic Ja’Marr Chase fashion!
JA’MARR CHASE 70-YARD TD.
FIVE TOUCHDOWN PASSES FOR JOE BURROW.

Joe Burrow is locked in and is maybe playing the best football of his professional career over his last 10 quarters. Yet when the Bengals were gifted a fumble in overtime, the coach chose to run it three times and settle for a 53-yard field goal than trust Joe Burrow to lead them closer. Make it make sense. Speaking of things that don’t make sense, why does Ja’Marr Chase not have a contract extension yet? Because if it’s to pay the guys on defense… I’d be concerned. Oh well, at least Joe and Ja’Marr’s 2024 highlight reel will be sick.
NFLSU Score: 9/10
Colts 34 at Jaguars 37
Brian Thomas Jr got his first professional win, and if doing it in these wonderful throwback uniforms wasn’t good enough, he also scored a TD even longer than both of Chase’s!

BTJ caught five passes for a team-high 122 yards. In what has been a dreadful start to the season, he has been a lone bright spot that has Jags fans excited. Less exciting but still cool was Maason Smith having one tackle. Him being on the same field as Joe Flacco feels crazy.
NFLSU Score: 8/10
Dolphins 15 at Patriots 10
Kayshon Boutte caught two passes for 34 yards. Blake Ferguson long snapped and had one oopsie, but they got the win, so it’s fine! Davon Godchaux had five tackles and a pass breakup.
NFLSU Score: 3/10
Browns 13 at Commanders 34
Jayden Daniels had the WORST game of his NFL career… by going 14/25 for 238 yards with 1 TD, 1 INT and 82 yards on 11 rushes.

He’s so good. Truly my only frustration is how many TDs he’s handing off to RBs. From a coaching/play-calling standpoint it makes sense, but I don’t care about the Commanders. I care about Jayden! I want him to score!!!
Absolutely crazy that he started 4-1 as a rookie in the NFL after he wasn’t able to reach that record as a 5th year senior with two first round pick receivers last year. No prison is harsh enough for Matt House.
Grant Delpit had 7 tackles and Ethan Pocic was back at center. Hopefully he’ll be snapping to a different QB soon.
NFLSU Score: 8/10
Bills 20 at Texans 23
Derek Stingley Jr. had 7 tackles and one real clutch pass breakup. Danielle Hunter had three tackles. Reid Ferguson long snapped. He was inactive today, but I recently realized I failed to mention Will Clapp is a Bill now. Update your rosters accordingly.
NFLSU Score: 5/10
Panthers 10 at Bears 36
Damien Lewis was back. Sorry for him.
NFLSU Score: 2/10
Raiders 18 at Broncos 34
K’Lavon Chaisson is back playing and making a single tackle! The 2024 Raiders are not a great place to be, but at least it’s not the Panthers! (don’t look up the only team to lose to the Panthers, it doesn’t matter)
NFLSU Score: 1/10
Giants 29 at Seahawks 20
Malik Nabers was out with a concussion, but somehow the Giants played competent offense. Cool! But let’s pray he’s healthy for next week so we can get him vs Ja’Marr in prime time.
Cor’Dale Flott had three tackles and one pass breakup. Anthony Bradford blocked.
NFLSU Score: 3/10
Cardinals 24 at 49ers 23
Exciting!… but nothing for us.
NFLSU Score: 0/10
Packers 24 at Rams 19
Tre’Davious White was out. Make that two straight goose eggs!
NFLSU Score: 0/10
Cowboys 20 at Steelers 17
It felt like an LSU Baseball game waiting through an hour-long rain delay. Then it felt like an LSU Football game when Donte Jackson got his second interception as a Steeler.

Donte had four tackles to go along with that and Patrick Queen racked up nine. Damone Clark had one tackle.
NFLSU Score: 5/10
Saints 13 at Chiefs 26
Clyde Edwards-Helaire was promoted to the active roster, but unfortunately wasn’t active. But you know who was? Foster Moreau who caught a touchdown!
Great call. Great execution. Touchdown. @fhmoreau

Tyrann Mathieu had six tackles against his former team.
