Chase, Jefferson, and Burrow are all back, while Stingley and Daniels are in for the first time
The NFL’s regular season is drawing to a close and as such, the league’s postseason honors will start rolling out over the next couple of weeks.
The first batch of accolades came out Thursday as the league announced the NFC and AFC rosters for the 2025 Pro Bowl Games (February 2 in Orlando) and five former Tigers were selected to the games.
Ja’Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson have been named Pro Bowlers for the fourth time in their careers; Joe Burrow earned the honor for the second time in his career; and Jayden Daniels and Derek Stingley Jr. are officially Pro Bowlers for the first time in their careers. Chase, Jefferson, and Stingley were all voted starters for the game.
Chase has been a Pro Bowler in each of his first four seasons as a pro. He is currently on track to win the receiver triple crown as he leads the NFL in catches (117), yards (1,612) and touchdowns (16). His catches and yards are both single season franchise records, and Chase needs one more touchdown to tie the franchise record set by Carl Pickens in 1995.
Jefferson is back in the Pro Bowl after missing out on the distinction last season, though he had a legit case for the honor despite missing seven games due to injury. He has once again been excellent for the Vikings as he has 100 catches for 1,479 yards and tied a career-high with 10 touchdowns. He’s gone over 1,000 yards receiving in all five seasons with Minnesota and needs 21 yards to eclipse 1,500 for the third time in his career.
Burrow is enjoying his best season as a pro and is making a serious argument for NFL MVP honors. He’s leading the league in completions (423), attempts (606), yards (4,641) and touchdowns (42); he’s also third in the NFL in passer rating (109.8,) and fifth in completion percentage (69.8). His completions, yards, and touchdowns are also single season franchise records.
Stingley’s third season in the league has been his breakthrough year as the former No. 3 overall pick is off to his first ever Pro Bowl. Stingley has set career-highs in tackles (54), TFLs (four), passes defensed (18), and has tied a career-best with five interceptions.
Jayden Daniels rookie season will include at least one accolade and likely two as the betting favorite for Offensive Rookie of the Year is officially a Pro Bowler. Daniels is the first Washington rookie to earn Pro Bowl honors since Chase Young in 2020, and he’s set an NFL record for rushing yards by a rookie quarterback with 862. Daniels has been instrumental in getting the Commanders into the postseason.
