Smiling through it all, can’t believe this my life
We’ve gone from 32 to four teams in the mix for Super Bowl LIX. The Divisional Round featured four entertaining games, all of which had NFLSU action. I normally go in the chronological order in which the games were played, but I will be saving the Saturday night game for last. I have the most to say, and you know why. I don’t want the other ones to get buried.
Texans 14 at Chiefs 23
The Houston Texans fell to 0-6 all time in the Divisional Round, but don’t blame Derek Stingley Jr. Against the best QB on the planet, Sting was phenomenal again, only allowing one catch for six yards with six tackles. Coming off a 1st Team All-Pro in Year 3, he’s set for a well-deserved payday this offseason.
Danielle Hunter had four tackles. Austin Deculus played a few snaps to try and help protect C.J. Stroud… it didn’t work.
NFLSU Score: 4/10
Rams 22 at Eagles 28
Omar Speights had seven tackles including a huge sack and forced fumble to ruin a potential field goal drive right before halftime.

Looks like a solid game for him! Let’s just ignore the Eagles’ rushing stats.
NFLSU Score: 4/10
Ravens 25 at Bills 27
Tre’Davious White had one tackle against his former team. Will Clapp played a smidge and Reid Ferguson long snapped, as he always does.
NFLSU Score: 3/10
Commanders 45 at Lions 31
We are out of adjectives for Jayden Daniels.
JAYDEN DANIELS. THE FUTURE IS NOW.

He did the impossible last week, leading a moribund franchise to their first playoff win in two decades. The season was already a massive success, and nobody would’ve held it against them for losing on the road to the well-rest Super Bowl favorite.
How did Jayden respond? Going 22/31 for 299 yards with 2 TDs, 0 INTs, and 51 rushing yards. Through two playoff games, his offense has punted ONCE.

While every game this weekend was interesting in some regard, Daniels was the story of the weekend. The wins and the stats are impressive, but rookies have won big games with big numbers before. The calmness and confidence Jayden has is astounding, even to fans like us who have seen it for years.

He will head to Philly to face a hated divisional rival for the third time this season, but with a Super Bowl on the line this time. While a terrible defense robbed Jayden of the chance to bring a championship to Louisiana, he’s one game away from having a chance to win one here. Even if he comes up short on Sunday, his future is blindingly bright.
On this Inauguration Day, there is a new leader in Washington, D.C. His name is Jayden Daniels.
