Didn’t drop!
LSU was able to get out of dodge with a 36-33 win over South Carolina and the Tigers held on to their No. 16 ranking in the latest AP Poll.
The biggest news in this week’s poll is that Texas overtook Georgia for the No. 1 spot and the Longhorns are ranked #1 for the first time since 2008. Georgia barely escaped from Kentucky with a 13-12 win Saturday night in Lexington.
Ohio State, Alabama, and Ole Miss once again rank third, fourth, and fifth respectively to round out the top-five. Tennessee leapfrogged Mizzou for the No. 6 spot, and so for a second week in a row, the SEC has six of the top seven spots. Texas A&M jumped back into the top 25, giving the SEC a grand total of nine ranked teams in this week’s poll.
