Maybe nobody’s good?
LSU picked a great day to have a bye week as there was carnage all across the college football landscape yesterday.
If you were completely off the grid yesterday here’s what you missed
- Vanderbilt beat #1 Alabama
- Arkansas beat #4 Tennessee
- Texas A&M absolutely steamrolled #9 Mizzou 41-10
- Washington beat #10 Michigan
- #11 USC lost at Minnesota
- Oh, and if all that wasn’t enough, SMU beat #22 Louisville and Syracuse beat #25 UNLV Friday night
So that’s seven upsets, including five of the top-11 going down. We call that a Blood Week, and as such the AP Poll looks dramatically different than it did last week.
Texas has moved back into the #1 spot, followed by Ohio State at 2, Oregon at 3, Penn State at 4, and Georgia at 5. Alabama tumbled down to 7, while Tennessee slipped to 8.
While there was a re-shuffling of the top-10, LSU didn’t actually move up in the poll. LSU remains at 13. The voters obviously can’t make heads or tails of the college football landscape because we have two teams tied for 11th (Notre Dame and Iowa State), and three tied at 18th (Kansas State/Indiana/Oklahoma).
This week’s AP Poll is as follows:
- Texas
- Ohio State
- Oregon
- Penn State
- Georgia
- Miami
- Alabama
- Tennessee
- Ole Miss
- Clemson
- Iowa State/Notre Dame
13. LSU
14. BYU
15. Texas A&M
16. Utah
17. Boise State
18. Kansas State/Indiana/Oklahoma
21. Missouri
22. Pittsburgh
23. Illinois
24. Michigan
25. SMU
