Just keep climbing
Thanks to a 34-17 win over UCLA and losses by both Oklahoma and Oklahoma State, LSU moved up two places to #14 in the latest AP Poll.
LSU ought to have a layup this weekend as the Tigers host South Alabama, and then the Tigers will have a bye week before the schedule intensity cranks up to 11 when Ole Miss comes to town.
Michigan was the big winner of this week’s poll as the Wolverines jumped from 18th to 12th after holding off USC in The Big House. USC is, naturally, still sitting in front of LSU at #13 in this week’s poll.
The SEC still runs college football as the league has five of the top six spots. Texas still holds the No. 1 spot followed by Georgia at 2. Alabama is sitting in fourth, while Tennessee overtook Ole Miss for the fifth spot. Mizzou may have beaten Vandy but the other Tigers needed double OT to win and as a punishment they were dropped from 7th to 11th.
