Tigers add a 2025 commit and get its first 2026 commitment
LSU is in the middle of its Friday Night Lights camp and the program is already starting to reap some rewards from the recruiting event.
The Tigers have gained two defensive line commits, one for the 2025 class and the other for the 2026 class.
Let’s start with the 2025 commit. On Saturday LSU secured the pledge of Jesse Harrold a four-star edge rusher from the Tampa area. Harrold is LSU’s first defensive line commit of the 2025 class and the first recruiting win for new EDGE coach Kevin Peoples.
Listed at 6’5” and 207 pounds, Harrold is the No. 66 overall prospect per On3 and a top-10 player at both his position. He picked LSU over other programs like Florida, Miami, Auburn, and Texas A&M.
Harrold is the second addition to LSU’s 2025 class this week. On Thursday LSU also added Carius Curne, the nation’s best interior offensive lineman. LSU’s 2025 class is ranked No. 2 nationally and the gap between them and No. 1 Ohio State is narrowing after adding Curne and Harrold.
It’s never too early to look ahead in recruiting and LSU got to work on its 2026 class. Enter four-star defensive lineman Richard Anderson.
Anderson also picked LSU after attending the Tigers’ Friday Night Lights camp, and he gives Brian Kelly and staff their first piece of the 2026 class. A rising junior, Anderson picked LSU over Oregon, USC, Ole Miss, and Florida State.
Anderson is from New Orleans and plays at Edna Karr. He plays with current LSU commit TaRon Francis and is teammates with some other LSU targets, most notably Corey Adams and Aiden Hall. Adams is a three-star 2025 defensive line prospect, while Hall is a four-star safety in the 2026 class.
It’s early of course, but Anderson is currently listed as the class of 2026’s No. 131 overall prospect and the No. 7 player in Louisiana in what’s shaping up to be an absolutely loaded class for the state. As it stands right now, Louisiana’s 2026 class has four players in the top 50 nationally and three in the top-15. Louisiana’s 2026 class is led by St. Aug’s Jahkeem Stewart, the No. 3 overall player, U-High’s Lamar Brown, the No. 5 national player, and Catholic’s Blaine Bradford, the No. 15 national player.
