Welp.
After blowing a 10-point halftime lead, LSU, unsurprisingly, took a tumble in the latest AP Poll falling from No. 8 to No. 16 in this week’s rankings.
Personally I think that’s a harsh drop. I mean, A&M was the favorite coming into the game after all and the game was on the road at what’s now a top-10 opponent. For comparisons sake, Alabama dropped three spots when the Tide lost to an unranked Vanderbilt as a three-touchdown favorite. But I digress.
LSU’s loss is quite literally Texas A&M’s gain as the Aggies jumped into the top-10. This week’s top-four remains the same as last week’s with Oregon, Georgia, Penn State, and Ohio State leading the way. Miami is now in the top-five, flip-flopping with Texas after the Horns kinda sorta struggled with Vandy.
LSU is of course off this week meaning their latest impression was getting lit up by Marcel Reed and Garrett Nussmeier throwing three pretty heinous interceptions. What kind of lasting impression will that leave on the CFP committee? Remember, the first rankings comes out next Tuesday.
