Plenty of time to climb
After a tough loss against USC Sunday night, LSU (0-1) fell five spots in this week’s AP Poll to No. 18. The Trojans jumped up 10 places and now occupy LSU’s previously held No. 13 spot.
USC took the biggest leap up the poll, while Miami climbed seven places from 19th to 12th after drubbing the Gators 41-17 in Gainesville.
LSU is the only 0-1 team in the poll but the five spot drop, thankfully, was not the biggest tumble a team suffered. Florida State has now fallen completely out of the Top 25 after losing Monday night to Boston College and dropping to 0-2 on the year. It’s so grim the Noles aren’t even receiving votes in this week’s poll. Clemson also took a mighty big fall from 14th to No. 25 this week.
Georgia and Ohio State are still 1-2 in this week’s poll, but Oregon fell from third to seventh after a less than inspiring 24-14 performance against Idaho. Texas and Alabama each moved up a spot to third and fourth respectively, while Notre Dame leapfrogged Ole Miss to round out the top-five.
