Surprise, surprise
In the least surprising news of the season, LSU’s third straight loss has resulted in them tumbling all the way out of the latest AP Poll, and they surely won’t be ranked when Tuesday’s CFP poll comes out.
The Tigers are in the “others receiving votes” category and got six votes. They received one more vote than UL-Lafayette, and two more than Vanderbilt, this week’s opponent. There’s only one team from the state of Louisiana that’s ranked, and that’s Tulane who are trying to elbow their way past Boise State for the Group of 5’s playoff bid.
Oregon is the unanimous No. 1 team in the country after surviving a scare from the Badgers in Madison Saturday night. Ohio State, Texas, Penn State, and Indiana once again round out the top-five.
This week’s AP Poll is as follows:
- Oregon
- Ohio State
- Texas
- Penn State
- Indiana
- Notre Dame
- Alabama
- Georgia
- Ole Miss
- Tennessee
- Miami
- Boise State
- SMU
- BYU
