Hailing from Missouri City, Texas, Phillips is a consensus four-star in the 2025 cycle. Per On3’s rankings he is the No. 65 overall player in the class and the No. 7 player at his position. ESPN and 247 don’t hold him in as high regard as he’s just outside of the top-200 in their respective rankings. Phillips also holds offers from Auburn, Michigan, Texas A&M, and Oregon among others.
Brian Kelly brought back Corey Raymond largely because of his ability to land elite defensive back talent and so far Raymond isn’t missing a beat. Between Phillips and DJ Pickett, LSU has two of the top-7 corners in the class of 2025 committed.
“Beingable to be coached by Corey Raymond is important,” Phillips said to On3’s Chad Simmons. “He really played a big part in my recruitment, never really losing hope or sight of me and calling me every day.”
Phillips gives LSU 24 commitments in its 2025 class, a class that is still firmly entrenched in the top-three nationally.
