Burrow appeared on Pardon My Take and addressed the LSU vs. Ohio State debates.
Legendary LSU quarterback Joe Burrow appeared on the talk show Pardon My Take on Monday and was asked a question that has been debated many times over between LSU and Ohio State Football fans, who gets credited with Burrow’s success?
Burrow’s answer was quite simple. “ I didn’t play football there (Ohio State). I mean, I practiced football there…I graduated. I usually tell people that I went to school at Ohio State and I played football at LSU. I got a lot better from practicing at Ohio State, but I didn’t get to play so I don’t really say that I played.”

Burrow was a backup at Ohio State for two seasons before transferring to Death Valley in 2018. During his time in Ohio, Burrow would throw just 29 passes not getting many chances to see the field. Once transferring to LSU, Burrow earned the starting spot and had an up-and-down 2018 season completing less than 60% of his pass attempts while throwing for 2,894 yards and 16 touchdowns to 5 interceptions.
Burrow would explode onto everyone’s radar in 2019 when he completed 76.3% of his passes for 5,671 yards and 60 touchdowns while only throwing 6 interceptions. Burrow’s legendary season would boost LSU to a National Championship win, earn the Heisman trophy, and set him as the number one overall pick of the NFL 2019 Draft.
The debate has always been foolish as Burrow has credited both schools with his success in the past, but the former Heisman winner has finally addressed the debate siding with going to school at Ohio State but playing football at LSU.
