…anyway, here’s some football to watch.
Little Noon Shift
- West Virginia-Cincinnati: It lacks for a strong narrative pull, but this is forecasted to be the best or at least the closest game of the shift, for what’s it’s worth.
- Florida-Texas: I think we all know which way this is going to break, especially with Florida’s QB situation. But yet, let’s confirm that the body drops before moving on with things.
- Navy-USF: Navy’s playoff hopes died a brutal death in last week’s 24-10 loss to Rice, who is without a coach after firing Mike Bloomgren mid-season. Now it’s all about controlling the fall against a stout USF team trending in the right direction under Alex Golesh.
- Syracuse-Boston College: It’s football.
Colorado Protocol Shift
- Georgia-Ole Miss: The Rebels took out their frustrations on Arkansas last weekend, but now they have to do it against the big boys with no room for error. But that’s not to say that they can’t, they very much should have won the LSU game and I think the Georgia defense isn’t quite the Georgia defense of yesterday. I think the Ole Miss defense could make the difference as Carson Beck really needs a safety blanket like Ladd McConkey or Brock Bowers.
- Michigan-Indiana: The reigning national champions are 14-point dogs to the Indiana Hoosiers. Let that swirl around in your mouth.
- Colorado-Texas Tech: The Colorado Protocol dictates that if the Buffs are playing a mid team, they go on the grid because it’ll either be a slapper or super chaotic.
- Clemson-Virginia Tech: Clemson got absolutely punked by llvll last week and all of a sudden they’re not only playing for their playoff life but also ACC championship chances against a slowly but surely leveling off Virginia Tech program. Not the road trip I’d want to make.
It Never Rains In Tiger Stadium Shift
- Alabama-LSU: LSU football, brought to you by the Trump National Weather Service.
- Oklahoma-Missouri: It’s a 6-point spread leaning Mizzou, but I think that could be subject to some play because if Mizzou has the opportunity, they will do all they can to rub the Sooners’ face in it.
- UCF-Arizona State: Should be a banger. The Sun Devils have quietly made excelling progress under head coach Kenny Dillingham in his second season, already doubling his win total over year one with plenty of room left in the schedule.
- Oklahoma State-TCU: I’m not sure how exactly Mike Gundy is expected to walk away from an 0-7 start to conference play and mathematical elimination from bowl eligibility. I would expect this to be kitchen sink time for the Pokes.
Robert Kekaula Memorial Shift
- BYU-Utah: Utah is a terrible 4-4 and 1-4 in Big 12 play while BYU is undefeated and looking good for playoffs…EXCEPT YOU CAN THROW ALL THAT OUT BECAUSE IT’S THE HOLY WAR.
- UC-Davis-Montana: Here it is, your FCS spotlight game of the week. Don’t miss this one, two perennial playoff teams squaring off for a shot at the Big Sky title.
- Utah State-Washington State: It’s football.
