Quick it’s not too late
Men’s Basketball
Tuesday: #6 Purdue vs. #15 Marquette, 8:00 P.M., FS1
Purdue’s riding high after beating Alabama, now they’ll have to center themselves ahead of a trip to Milwaukee to take on Shaka Smart’s crew.
Wednesday: Southern vs. #23 Texas A&M, 7:00 P.M., SEC Network+
#25 Illinois vs. #8 Alabama, 8:00 P.M., SEC Network
Speaking of Alabama, they dropped a marquee non-con game against one Big 10 power, now they’ll get to try their hand against the Illini.
In other news: Go Jags imo.
Thursday: #13 Baylor vs. #22 St. John’s, 6:00 P.M., CBS Sports Net
If you need an appetizer to get ready for football (NC State @ Georgia Tech or the Steelers traveling to Cleveland to take on the Browns) then you’ve got a really good game with the Bears taking on Rick Pitino’s Johnnies.
Friday: #19 Wisconsin vs. UCF, 4:00 P.M., CBS Sports Net
#12 Duke vs. #17 Arizona, 9:30 P.M., ESPN2
Normally I wouldn’t make too big of a fuss about Wisconsin taking on a good but not great UCF, but LSU will play one of these two this Sunday so maybe it wouldn’t hurt to get some scouting in.
As for the nightcap: Duke. Arizona. Don’t need to say much more.
Women’s Basketball
Wednesday: #1 South Carolina vs. Clemson, 4:00 P.M., ESPN2
Tulane vs. #7 LSU, 7:00 P.M., SEC Network+
Auburn vs. #23 Oregon, 8:00 P.M., TBD
Not gonna lie, the women’s slate is pretty grim this week. I’m not sure South Carolina-Clemson carries as much weight in hoops as it does football, but it’s still worth seeing two power-four teams square off.
Tulane might be the best football team in Louisiana, but when it comes to women’s basketball, the Tigers still run things in The Boot. Expect LSU to roll (pun intended) the wave tomorrow night in the PMAC.
If you’re able to stay up late enough for it, Auburn-Oregon could be a sneaky good time. Kudos to Auburn for playing this game by the way. Take note, Kim Mulkey.
