Back home in Tiger Stadium
GEAUX!
Three Specific Predictions: Saul Garcia
For the fifth straight season, LSU heads into a week two looking for its first of the year. They’ll get it of course, the only question is how lopsided will the final score be.
Other than being back inside Tiger Stadium for the 100th season, there’s not a lot of redeeming qualities for this game. Personally, LSU could beat Nicholls 100-0 and it wouldn’t phase me in the slightest. I understand that these FBS-FCS games help fund schools like Nicholls, but I’m hoping as we’re entering the 12-team playoff era, these games will go by the wayside.
Empty calories is the theme of today’s game. Garrett Nussmeier is gonna throw for a whole bunch of yards. Kyren Lacy will probably score a touchdown or two. Harold Perkins is probably going to make a play here or there. But what will it all mean?
They say a team’s biggest improvement comes between week 1 and week 2, but how much of LSU’s improvement will be genuine, and how much will be they just beat up on an in-state school looking for a check?
Final prediction: LSU 49, Nicholls 10
